Small Stock Meeting 10/13/25
The website will now include summaries of clinics (along with any related handouts) and summaries of information shared at project meetings. It will also have copies of the monthly emails that go out on the first of each month.
We also have a new website called Arizona Youth Poultry Connection. We’re looking for adults and youth who have aged out of 4-H/FFA—people who aren’t professionals but want to help by judging showmanship, clerking at shows, or assisting in other ways around the state. The goal is to build a list that leaders statewide can use to find judges and helpers for events like Fur and Feather or local shows, without having to call around or risk conflicts between counties.
If you’re interested, please sign up on the website and include details about what you can help with and which counties you’re available for.
Upcoming Dates & Deadlines:
October 31: Turkey orders due by midnight
November 1: Fur and Feather — counts toward your attendance. You can borrow a bird to compete. We’re still looking for Silent Auction bird donations! Some are already lined up, but we can always use more. Please note: no males unless part of a pair or trio, since not everyone can house roosters. If you plan to donate, please let me know ahead of time—definitely not the day of the event.
November 8: Second Poultry Clinic — topic: Nutrition (counts toward attendance)
November 29: Tucson Fancy Fowl Show — counts toward attendance; just need a picture as proof. More info will be shared once available. They’re also looking for volunteers to help with setup and teardown.
November 30: Duck orders due
Week of December 15: Turkeys hatch — make sure your brooders are ready!
